From a very young age in Daytona Beach, Florida- Julie loved to entertain everyone around her. Whether it was through her art, making funny voices and jokes, putting on magic shows, or acting in plays. Entertaining came natural to Julie. She especially loved comedy, as putting a smile on everyone's face filled her with great joy. Julie was very interested in theatrics and film. Her favorite films were usually Animated, Comedies or Horrors. She also was fascinated with special effects & puppetry arts.
In High School, Julie joined Drama Club and the National Art Honor Society. She loved creating artwork for her school, as well as attending theater classes to help put on shows. In her Senior Year, she became President of the National Art Honor Society. She also loved working with kids and was a volunteer face painter.
Julie was always artistic, drawing up comics & doodles all over her pages. Her favorite school projects were where she could showcase her art. Julie wanted a career where she could utilize her entertainment & artistic skills. She also loved to learn, about anything and everything- from Aviation to Science, History & Geography- So she attended the Art Institute of Atlanta in Media Arts & Animation. She was most interested in Animation because it had everything she loved: Drawing, Acting, Voice-Overs, Music, Illustration, Graphic Design & so much more. Julie then set out on her career path.
As she was attending school Full-Time, Julie also worked at various part-time jobs throughout the years- Her first job at only 12 years old at a Bike Shop with her brother. From there, she worked at the movies, restaurants, and retail stores. Julie made lots of great connections, all the while learning a variety of career skills: Customer service, sales, management, marketing, and so forth. In 2007, she met the owner of an Event company that specialized in Kid's Birthday Parties Entertainment doing balloons & face paint. What started as a part-time job over a decade ago led to a new passion in entertainment.
Since she started Freelancing, in 2007, opportunities were around every corner. From working with local clients and companies creating logos & flyers, to working with people across the world- illustrating children's books, animating videos, and even creating movies. In addition to Freelancing her artistic skills around the globe, her part-time job at the Kid's party place has turned into a lifelong passion- for over a decade she's been entertaining year round in Atlanta at birthday parties & events doing balloons, magic, face painting, and character acting- bringing smiles to children & adults alike.
After over a decade of Freelancing, Julie now works Full time at a company she loves as a Production Coordinator & Digital Publisher, while working on her own creative projects on the side. Everyday is a new adventure! Always open-minded, curious, & driven- Julie can't wait to see what's going to happen next in life!
Where the name "Kitsulie" comes from
Kitsulie is my artist name. There are lots of people out there with my name, so I wanted to create a name that was unique. "Kitsulie" comes from the combination of "Kitsune" and "Julie". I chose a Kitsune because I feel that is the spirit that best describes me, personally and professionally. A Kitsune is a Fox spirit with multiple tails. Foxes are known for being playful, cunning, and intelligent- they are also my favorite animal! Kitsunes grow more tails as they become older and wiser. So as I grow, so will "Kitsulie" I love putting Fox cameos in my work, and I always sign my name with a Fox tail! One day, I'll probably legally change it to Kitsulie!
